The figure below shows a very interesting project of electronic coin toss circuit. The circuit is a good alternative of coin toss. It can also be used as an electronic coin toss game to play. There are two LEDs in the circuit which will blink in very high speed in a flip flop manner when you press the push switch,
and when you stop pressing the push switch the flashing will stop and only one LED will stay ON and shows the decision.
The circuit is using a CD 4017 IC, three transistors, two LEDs and few other discrete components. The circuit has two sections, first section is a multivibrator circuit built with three transistors and second section is built around a CD 4017 CMOS decade counter IC. The operating voltage of the circuit is 9 to 12 volt DC.
For best results you can fix the circuit in a small box with battery and attach the two LEDs and push switch at the outside of the box and mark head and tail on the LEDs.
