discharge or deep discharge.

The circuit is built around a 555 timer IC that is wired as a comparator in the circuit. The 10K variable resistor is used to adjust the indication point. After completing the circuit you have to adjust it for the first time. For adjusting the circuit take an adjustable power supply and set its output to 6V. Now connect the power supply in the place of battery with the circuit and slightly adjust the 10K variable resistor until the LED goes off. After these settings remove the power supply and connect a fully charged 6V battery. Now when the voltage of that battery will falls below 6V the LED will get activated.

Here is a very simple and easy project of a 555 low battery indicator for 6V batteries. Every time a battery gets completely discharge it will lose some of its capacity due to which its life become shorter. The circuit will activate an LED when the battery is low and required charging and save the battery from completely
