6V Power Supply Using LM7806 IC

The schematic shown below is a circuit of 10V power supply using LM7810 IC. LM7810 is an IC of LM78xx voltage regulators series. All the ICs in this series are fixed voltage regualtors comes in TO220 package. These ICs are packed with many built in features like short circuit protection, thermal

shutdown, safe area protection etc. and provides upto 1A current. All the important circuitry has been built inside the ICs due to which they require very few external components. The circuit shown below is using a 230/110 to 12V 2A transformer a diode bridge and only three capacitors to make a good quality stable 10 volt power supply. The IC become hot during the operation due to which a suitable heatsink is also required.
